Screen Shot 2013-07-02 at 11.36.50 AMEast Dallas neighbor Diane Carson, the owner of Carson Art Gallery and icon of the Design District, is retiring from the biz, which means her lifetime collection (which is gigantic, by the way) is now offered to the public at up to 70 percent off. Who doesn’t love a bargain, especially on original artwork?

On June 25, the gallery was opened to the public for the first time, and Carson will be closing her doors forever on July 25. Her gallery is in the Design District at 1710 Hi Line, so click around her website, and then decide if you want to make the drive over there.

Carson specializes in 19th and 20th Century art. She opened Carson Art Gallery in 1982, and has built up a bit of a reputation as an industry leader in Dallas. According to her bio, she’s provided artwork to hundreds of significant corporations, including Omni, Gaylord, Disney, Marriott, Ritz Carlton, Hilton and Hard Rock.

The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but she’s closed July 4 through 7. For more info, you can reach Carson at 214-747-3055 or by email at
