Starting in January, phase 2 of the Ross Avenue Roadway Improvements Project will be making its way to City Council for approval in January. Need a refresher on the project? We’ve got you covered.
The project called for the installation of a path that provides a connection between the Lower Greenville area and the Arts District, covering both District 2 (Jesse Moreno) and District 14 (Paul Ridley).
The project reduces lanes from four to five, with the addition of a median and dedicated left turn bays.Â
The construction has been broken up into two phases:
Phase 1: A shared-use-path on the north side of the roadway Â
Phase 2: Remaining identified improvements (unfunded)
To date, the design of phase 1 is complete with the environmental clearance being obtained. The plans are being reviewed by the Texas Department of Transportation.
The conceptual design for phase 2 (the south side) is complete. The design contract is set to go to City Council on Jan. 22, 2025 for approval.Â
The anticipated start date for construction is spring of 2026.
