A police officer at about 8 this morning shot a robbery suspect after the suspect pulled a gun on him. A plain-clothes officer spotted a vehicle wanted in a robbery. He called for backup and when uniformed officers approached the man near the Munger and Live Oak intersection, the suspect pointed a handgun at one of the officers. The officer shot the suspect, arrested him, and Fire and Rescue transported him to a nearby emergency room.

"The suspect is responsible for at least one individual robbery of a female who was at the bus stop in the Beacon/Lindsley area. This occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. Suspect took victim’s property but was recovered when the suspect was arrested. The robbery victim was not injured. The suspect’s weapon was also recovered," according to a police report.

Police say that the witness who called 911 gave very good information on suspect and suspect vehicle that helped officers locate the suspect.
