Ridgewood Park United Methodist Church in East Dallas is celebrating 60 years in ministry.
“We’ve come a long way from a group of 139 Christians who first held worship services at Crane-Longley Funeral Chapel on Northwest Highway,” says Rev. Ann Willet. “Currently at 450 members strong, Ridgewood Park has been a vibrant part of our community and reached many families with the good news of Christ’s love.”
Ridgewood is celebrating its anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 26 with worship services at 9:30 a.m. (traditional in the sanctuary) and 11:35 a.m. (contemporary in the ministry center). The guest preacher for the celebration will be Bishop Mike McKee, and there will be special music from instrumentalists, as well as Ridgewood’s adult, youth, and children’s choirs.
Following worship the church will gather for a celebration meal in the Family Life Center.
