Since taking over four years ago, Jose and his wife Josefina Orozco, who works tirelessly behind the scenes, have exhibited love for the Lake Highlands and East Dallas communities. (We love them back; Lake Highlands Advocate readers voted them best breakfast last year.) And they don’t just serve lunch. Earlier in 2014 they announced dinner service.

They frequently host special holiday events, such as a Santa Brunch the second week of December, which we’ll fill you in on later. This Thanksgiving, they are reaching out to families — families who probably are not loyal customers but who are in need of a good JJ’s-inspired feast. If you know of a deserving East Dallas/Lake Highlands family, Jose wants you to nominate them for one of five giveaways.

“JJs Cafe will treat five neighborhood families to a full Thanksgiving dinner,” he says. “Please send us a private message [via Facebook] with name and phone number of the families you feel is truly needing help with Thanksgiving, along with details about why we should pick them.”
