According to reports from W.T. White High School parents in Preston Hollow, and confirmed Friday morning by DISD, longtime Lakewood Elementary principal Michelle Thompson is switching jobs, taking over at White effective immediately.
A meet-the-parents event with Thompson is scheduled July 17 at White; the move was announced to White parents via a DISD “robo-call” earlier this evening.
Thompson has been principal at Lakewood for about nine years. No word yet on who will lead Lakewood and/or the selection process for a new principal.
We’ve contacted DISD for clarification about the Lakewood principal search process, and we’ll post more information as we receive it.
