The restaurant’s selling point is fresh seafood served both steamed and seasoned as per tradition of a Louisiana crab boil. The co-owner, Steven Sohn, is a jewelry importer and also the man behind Hibashi Teppan Grill Sushi Bar in Far North Dallas. He calls this restaurant “the sister concept” to that venture. Sohn teamed up with co-owner and executive chef Tiger Park and manager, Steven Whitear, who told us they wanted to create Ragin’ Crab because “they’ve always liked cajun food.”

The sports bar, complete with 15 TVs, aims to provide a “relaxing and casual experience” where guests can “roll up their sleeves and enjoy the fun of cracking and peeling shellfish and eating succulent, delicious seafood and crawfish,” says spokesperson Fran Gallagher.

image008On the menu is shrimp, crawfish, whole lobster tail, Dungeness crab, Alaskan king crab, snow crab, clams, green mussels and sea scallops. And guests can choose their seasoning preferences: classic Louisiana, signature Louisiana-inspired ragin’ bang, lemon pepper, garlic butter, or cajun.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 2 p.m.-midnight, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight, and Sunday  11 a.m.-10 p.m. For more information, go to ragincrab.com or call 214.827.2722.
