Two things to note about our gas price contest — no one has leaped in front yet, and though there have been high prices, there haven’t been really, really high prices. Among the leaders so far:
• The Mobil station at Skillman and Live Oak, at $3.289 as of the entry over the weekend.
• $3.289 at the Texaco at Coit and LBJ from a visitor this morning.
• $3.259 at the Chevron at Forest and Central, also this morning.
Remember, the person who sends in a picture of either the pump with the price or a sign for regular unleaded with the price gets $50 in restaurant gift certificates. The runner-up gets $20 in certificates. If there is a tie, we’ll do a drawing. The station needs to be in any of our four neighborhoods — East Dallas/Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Preston Hollow, and Far North Dallas. Regular unleaded only, so no super premium.
