Neighbor Kelley Murphy, who is becoming something of a regular contributor to Advocate with her beautiful wildlife photos from White Rock Lake, sent these pictures of white pelicans for our viewing pleasure. She says:
“How fun are the pelicans?!! Sunset Bay is the place to be at any time of day this fall, thanks to the recent return of the American White Pelicans. They have brought with them much sparkle and light that exudes excitement not only to their many admirers, like myself, but it seems their fellow lake inhabitants are equally thrilled with their presence, as I have witnessed first-hand more sightings and activity in the Egrets, Blue Herron’s, and even the always entertaining Geese seem to be stepping up their show to keep the spotlight focused on them.”
