Lombardi Family Concepts is shooting for the end of April to open Penne Pomodoro in Lakewood Shopping Center. Company spokesman Bill Armstrong declined to say more than that. Lakewood would be the third location for Penne Pomodoro. Dallas-based Lombardi is also the company behind Taverna, La Cubanita and Toulouse, among others. The new Penne Pomodoro is planned for the space that housed Kitchen 1924, which closed in July.

Lombardi has restaurants in Las Vegas, Austin and Fort Worth. But as we reported in December, this is the company’s first venture east of Central Expressway.
