Angelo's

The ink is still wet on a deal between Ginger Man Pub and Greenway Investment Co., but it’s official: Ginger Man Pub is taking over the spot that, up until recently, housed Angelo’s Italian Restaurant for more than 21 years.

At this point, Ginger Man Pub doesn’t have a lot of information to offer, other than they hope to open in early spring of next year. And they don’t know what the design will look like, other than they plan to “stick with the Ginger Man tradition,” a spokesperson told me. She didn’t know whether or not that would include a patio.

Right now they are “in talks” with construction and remodeling companies, so they don’t know when construction will begin. Seriously, the ink has barely dried on the lease.

A little background for those who don’t know, Angelo’s Italian Restaurant, which had occupied that location at Gaston and La Vista for 21 years, was kicked out in August for “non-payment of rent,” according to the landlord Cathy Patterson with Greenway Investing Company. Greenway immediately started showing the space to potential renters, and just a few days later we heard rumors about Ginger Man Pub looking at the space.
