Editor’s note (5:30 p.m. June 7): This story has been updated with corrected information about how election sites are chosen. A previous version of this story stated that fewer sites were chosen for the runoff election because it is a smaller election, and when the Dallas County Elections office received complaints, it was too late to open more locations.

No polling locations in East Dallas were open for early voting during the Dallas ISD District 2 Board of Trustees runoff election.

Nic Solorzano, the communications manager for the Dallas County Election Department, said in an email that as the entity responsible for paying for the election, Dallas ISD chose the Election Day and early voting locations. He also said that Dallas ISD chose to open the same locations in the runoff election in District 2 as it did for the May 6 election.

Voting locations in East Dallas will be open on Election Day, June 10.

As of publication, those sites include Lakewood Branch Library, Lakewood Elementary School, The Father’s Church, Ridgewood Recreation Center, Mockingbird Elementary School, Northridge Presbyterian Church and The Church at Junius Heights.

A full list of polling locations can be found on the DCED homepage.

Jimmy Tran and Sarah Weinberg are running to represent District 2, which includes the Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern.

Voters who wish to file a complaint about the lack of early voting locations may do so with this form.
