The murder coverage has been the bulk of the East Dallas news this week. In case you somehow missed it, the body of 18-year-old Zoe Hastings was found Monday morning in a crashed minivan near White Rock Lake. Authorities are ruling it a homicide. Two other women, a mother and daughter, were also killed in a separate homicide in Far East Dallas. And a runner was hacked to death on White Rock Creek Trail on Monday by an ex-football player. More than 300 people showed up Thursday at Norbuck Park to help police find clues in the murder of 18-year-old Zoe Hastings. Read more.

The new director of Vickery Meadow’s public improvement district would would like to fix up the old fire station at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Blackwell Street, near Half Price Books and the Shops at Park Lane, according to the Dallas Morning News.
