“Serial entrepreneur” and longtime neighborhood resident Johnny de la Valdene is featured in a DMN story over the weekend about his corporate adventures. Best known for the Marshmallow Shooter toy, it turns out Valdene is distantly related to Winston Churchill and, according to the DMN story, a family trust fund supported his early ventures.
Meanwhile, Woodrow’s budding International Baccalaureate program also received some ink, with a rehash of the program, the school’s goals and how the program is being accepted by the community (hint: pretty well).
