Kimpton’s Hotel Palomar Dallas is one of three Texas hotels listed on National Geographic Traveler’s "Stay List" under "129 Hotels We Love," in the April 2009 issue. The hotel near Mockingbird Lane and Central Expressway originally opened in 1967 as a Hilton Inn. It floundered for years, but reopened as Hotel Palomar in 2006 after a design makeover by Cheryl Rowley. The following year, it was named in Conde Nast Traveler’s "Hot List," and CitySearch has listed it as the best boutique hotel in Dallas. This is the hotel’s second appearance on the National Geographic Traveler list.

Its amenities include eco- and pet-friendly services, a daily wine hour and in-room pet goldfish. Check out Hotel Palomar’s specials on its Web site.
