A man suspected in nine carjackings since February, including eight in East Dallas, has been charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest. He is being held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center pending $115,000 in bail.

The Dallas Police Department has asked the media not to release the man’s name or image until all of the carjacking victims have seen a photo lineup. The two charges stem from a carjacking Monday night, but more charges are expected, said Senior Corproal Kevin Janse. "We want to put as many of these on him as possible so that we can rule out the possibility that there’s another perpetrator out there with a similar m.o.," Janse said.

The carjacker targeted women of any age, but didn’t seem to prefer any specific type of car, and he struck at all times of the day and week. Many of the cars were found stripped in South Dallas, and one was used in a Cedar Hill robbery. So police knew that he probably would be headed south after robbing. "Sure enough, that’s how one of the officers caught him, heading south on Central Expressway," Janse said. We will report more details on Back Talk as soon as possible.
