A chain-reaction crash killed one person Sunday night in the southbound lanes of U.S. 75 near Mockingbird Lane, police said.

The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m. when a 25-year-old driver, who appeared to be drunk, crashed into another vehicle, Fox 4 reported. The driver then spun and hit a second car.

In the first vehicle, a passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected when the vehicle hit a wall, according to the station. The individual was taken to Baylor Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Four other vehicles were involved in separate crashes and caused the closure of the highway.

Fox 4 reported that police arrested the driver who appeared to be drunk.
