Mount Auburn School opened in January 1922 with 500 students and 11 teachers. The school board built Mount Auburn to relieve overcrowding at O.M. Roberts.
The school is hosting a 90th-anniversary celebration from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 14 at the school, 6012 E. Grand. Current students and teachers, alumni, former teachers and neighborhood residents are invited to attend.
