UPDATE: As a reader noted below — thanks, lpeneighbor — the couple was found at their Abilene home. That’s about all we know at this point.

Dallas police are asking for our help finding Schley Ervin, 85, and his wife Elsie, 84. Yesterday afternoon, they left their Anita Street home, between Skillman and Abrams off of Mockingbird, and haven’t been heard from since. They were last seen in their champagne-colored 2003 Ford Winstar van, bearing the license plates 805-LFB, according to a missing persons bulletin. They do not have any recorded medical or mental problems, but police are especially concerned since they are new to the East Dallas area. They moved here from Abilene just a few days ago. “Because of their advanced ages and the fact they are new to the area, they are considered critical missing persons,” according to the bulletin. Schley Ervin is described as 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds; Elsie Ervin is 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds. Anyone with information about the Ervins should contact the Missing Persons Unit at 214.671.4316.
