Merit Coffee Co. will open this fall at Lakewood Village, at the southeast corner of East Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road.
The store will be near Hudson House, in the former Cloud 9 Nail Spa space. Earlier this year, the nail spa moved to a different space in the shopping center, next to Merle Norman.

In the Dallas area, Merit Coffee has locations in Deep Ellum, Preston Forest, Preston Hollow Village and Highland Park. There are also stores in Austin and San Antonio.
The San Antonio-based company was originally known as Local Coffee (though there’s still one San Antonio location called Local Coffee). Merit Coffee roasts its beans at a facility in San Antonio, and they can be purchased online or in store.
At the shops, Merit Coffee sells cold brew, tea, drip coffee and espresso drinks such as cappuccinos, lattes and Americanos. Food items are also available, along with branded merchandise.
There are several coffee shops already at the Mockingbird-Abrams intersection. White Rock Coffee has a drive-thru in Hillside Village, and there’s a Starbucks at Mockingbird Commons. Just west of the intersection along Mockingbird, Black Sheep Coffee is expected to open this year between Burger House and Big Shucks.
