Mans is being recommended and approved for the principal position at Viridian Elementary in Arlington. The school is close to the area where she plans to buy a house in the next year, Mans said in a letter to the community.

In the letter, Mans thanked neighbors for their support and encouraged them to embrace new leadership.

“Without you, we would not have been able to make the strides and achieve the accomplishments that have made our school so special,” she said in the letter. “I will always cherish the time spent at this school learning with all of you.”

Mans will stay until June 30, when her contract with Dallas ISD expires. Mockingbird Elementary Executive Director Danielle Petters will select the next principal with input from teachers, staff, parents and the community.

The departure comes about five years since Mans accepted the position in 2015, after serving as a principal in Metro Nashville Public Schools. She had previously served as an assistant principal at Mockingbird Elementary from 2001-2003.

In 2019, Mans was named a Master Principal, a top-performing DISD principal based on school culture and overall student growth.
