If you’re wondering how yet another taco joint can make it in East Dallas, especially just a stone’s throw away from the popular Good 2 Go Taco, which recently won Advocate’s 2015 Best Of contest for best taco in East Dallas, and a short drive from Torchy’s Tacos in Casa Linda, you should know this place is a tad different than what we’re used to seeing in the neighborhood.

La Paloma Taqueria focuses on serving tacos — and other Mexican food options — so authentic you could actually order them in Spanish. You can order their tacos individually for a thrifty $1.45 each or with a side of rice and beans. Also on the menu are tortas, tostadas, enchiladas, fautas and more.

Although this is the first La Paloma Taqueria in East Dallas, the restaurant isn’t new to the Dallas area. According to its website, the taqueria started more than 12 years ago as a home-style bakery before transforming into what it is today. The closest locations are at NorthPark Center and at Central and Walnut Hill. There are also locations in Richardson, Plano, Carrollton and McKinney.

Construction is still underway on the location at 10118 Garland. Visit the website to learn more.
