A new restaurant is moving into the former Jakes Burgers & Beer spot on Belmont and Henderson avenues.
After about a year, the former Jakes Burgers & Beer space on Henderson Avenue is welcoming a new tenant.
Mayer’s Garden applied for a certificate of occupancy at 2422 N. Henderson Ave. According to the filing, it will be a restaurant without drive-in service. And it will serve alcohol.
The restaurant joins a host of other eateries and bars in the area.
Jakes closed at the corner of Belmont and Henderson in June 2020 because of an uncooperative landlord. There are two other locations in our city, one in Lake Highlands and one in Uptown.
