The restaurant celebrated its grand opening today with a ribbon cutting.

This is the first brick-and-mortar restaurant for chef and owner Jose Luis Rodriguez.

“We are very glad and happy to introduce you to our restaurant business, family business, Mixtitos,” Rodriguez says. “We appreciate every single person who’s here to attend this nice event.”

District 2 City Councilperson Jesse Moreno attended the event to welcome the new business to East Dallas.

“My family is actually in the restaurant business as well, and so we know how much hard work, sweat and tears it takes to do what you did today,” Moreno says. “And so we wish you much success. It’s so nice to have a new eatery here in East Dallas, where our neighbors can come, have some drinks, have some food.”

The restaurant serves a mix of dishes, such as soups and salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos and more.

It’s located at 2706 Samuell Blvd. in the former La Acapulqueña. Read more about Mixtitos Kitchen in our digital edition.
