Hopefully, you read about Live Local East Dallas in this month’s Advocate cover story. The volunteer group, of which Advocate Magazines is a member, aims to help boost our neighborhood by encouraging residents and businesses to think twice about where we’re spending our money.
"Buy local" is the ultimate message, although as we talked about a bit the other day here on the blog, "buy local" isn’t the same as "buy local no matter what" — how and if we decide to support local businesses is up to each of us. The Live Local East Dallas group’s goal is simply to get people thinking.
Tonight’s organizational event at Times Ten Cellars (another member of the group) is open to residents and businesses. Annual memberships are $15 for individuals (includes a free t-shirt and yard sign) and $50 for businesses (includes the t-shirt, sign, window cling and marketing kit).
