Little Forest Hills is known for being an artistic community, with eclectic homes and quiet streets populated by musicians, sculptors and unique yard art. But now the neighborhood is stars in a music video.
Local band The Wild Frontiers were looking for a place to shoot their first music video, but the budget was tight and they didn’t have the funds to block out streets and pay security. That’s when frontman and singer Trent Rush, whose family moved to Little Forest Hills several years ago, realized that Little Forest Hills might be the perfect fit.
“We went all over the place. Then go back to the house to eat some dinner,” Rush says. “We realized it was the perfect street.”
In The Wild Frontiers video for “Drive,” the band can be seen walking, jogging and driving down Eustis Avenue in Little Forest Hills. The video is a single shot capturing the band moving toward the camera down the street. Neighbors took part in the video as well, and they can be seen playing the djembe, blowing bubbles and dancing along. The video was shot by Scott O’Reilly and OBOY! Productions.
Rush recorded a couple solo projects before he joined up with The Wild Frontiers, who have just released their first five song EP called “Seventeen.” Produced by Zac Maloy from The Nixons and recorded in Nashville, they will be playing at Gas Monkey in Addison on August 16 and touring the west coast in September.
The Wild Frontiers include Rush, James Wilson (guitar/vocals), Travis Hepler (guitar/vocals), Kasey Wilson (bass guitar) and Josh Reed (drums). They count Blue October and Neon Trees as musical influences. Check out the video below.
