A former Bryan Adams basketball player who helped the University of Arkansas reach the 1990 Final Four died Saturday. He was 52.
Lenzie Howell died at his home in Dallas, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. The cause of death was not known.
The 6-foot-4 forward played at Bryan Adams before attending San Jacinto junior college in Pasadena. He transferred to Arkansas as a junior and helped the Razorbacks win two Southwest Conference regular-season and tournament titles.
“His game didn’t go up and down,” former Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson told the Democrat-Gazette. “He was pretty steady. Just about every outing, you were going to get from Lenzie the maximum of what a player should be giving.”
After his stint at Arkansas, Howell played professionally in Europe for 11 seasons.
