If you’ve driven around the Belmont and Bennett area near Henderson and Central Expressway during the past couple of years, you’ve probably wondered whether there are enough renters in the area to fill up the hundreds of apartments coming online. The developers are starting to find that out right now, as the 465 apartments available there are available for rented at prices between $800-$2,000 monthly. Steve Brown in the DMN writes about the project and the leasing potential — every renter receives a "free" 42-inch HDTV, if that tells you anything. Even the developer confesses to some anxiety about how the project will lease up. Some of the units have views of downtown, the sidewalks are wider in the area and, overall, it’s a whole lot nicer feel driving through than it was a few years ago.
