Editor’s note (Nov. 15, 2022): A previous version of this story referred to the Greenville Avenue location as LDU Coffee’s fourth store. It’s actually the fifth. The fourth location opened in Preston Hollow in mid-November.

LDU Coffee plans to open its fifth location in the former Saint Taco space on Greenville Avenue near Lovers Lane.

The local coffee chain has two locations in East Dallas — one on North Fitzhugh and another on Garland Road close to White Rock Lake. Its other shops are in the Park Cities and Preston Hollow.

Saint Taco closed in April after about a year in business. Before that, BBBop Seoul Kitchen occupied the space.

LDU Coffee was founded by brothers Adam and Mark Lowes, who wanted to bring the coffee experience from their home country of Australia to Dallas.

Before they opened their stores in Texas, the Lowes ran espresso bars for a decade in Australia. The Fitzhugh location, the original store, met their requirements; it was in a walkable area, near a major highway and without an independent coffee shop, they told the Advocate in 2018.

LDU offers a range of coffee drinks and teas, plus snacks. But they don’t offer free Wi-Fi.
