The letter to the left was in my post office box on Wednesday morning. Apparently, the Lakewood branch hasn’t been billing some of us for our boxes for as long as two years.

I have written about how poorly the station seems to be run, to little or no effect. That the station neglected to bill us points out again how true that is. It’s inconceivable that something like that can happen. There are supposed to be budgets and audits that track those things. One would think that, if at the end of 2006, the P.O. box account was a little short, someone would have mentioned it. And, because of their mistake, I will have to wait in line –- a dreaded postal service line — to keep my box

I will renew my offer: I’ll be happy to talk to anyone from the postal service -– in Lakewood, in Dallas or Washington -– about what has happened and what they’re going to do about it. What is going on over there?
