For the fifth time in ten years, Dallas Christian School of Mesquite has won the football state championship in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Division 2-AAA. The Chargers had a perfect 13-0 win-loss record, including a 13-10 defeat of Bishop Lynch who went on to win the TAPPS Super 2-AAA state title. Dallas Christian finished the season ranked No. 1 among area private schools, according to The Dallas Morning News rankings.
The 1995 Charger team also produced several White Rock area students who received individual honors in TAPPS 2-AAA. Senior Mitchell Hill was named first team all-district linebacker and second team all-district running back. Sophomore Ralphael Freeman was named first team all-district wide receiver and first team all-district secondary. Junior Billy Packer received honors as second team all-district wide receiver.
Other area players making outstanding contributions to the team included Cash Barr, Michael Hill, Brad Kirk, Andrew McDonald, Zachary Norris, Grant Tonick and Mitchell Weedn.
