Lakewood Elementary sent out a release earlier this week, saying the “the process for finding a new principal is in full swing.”
In case you missed it, Kaye Simmons, the principal at Lakewood Elementary School, sent out a school-wide email last week to say she won’t be returning to Lakewood Elementary in the fall.
The email from Lakewood Elementary says a committee of teachers, staff and other key leaders met on Thursday to chat with the No. 1 candidate.
“The district has moved very quickly to ensure that the best person for our campus has not only met but also exceeds district qualifications for principals,” the email states.
The email says a formal announcement will be made on Monday or Tuesday, but a comment on the Lakewood Elementary Facebook page suggests the announcement could come earlier than that.
