This month, students at Lakehill Preparatory gave up some of their time to do some good and give back to the elderly residents in East Dallas. As part of a 40-year tradition, the students, along with parents and class sponsors, spent Dec. 9 putting together a meal for their neighbors.

The Lakehill senior class decorated the cafeteria while also serving as hosts and food servers. The juniors got to dress as Christmas characters—elves, reindeer and the Claus family—and took pictures with guests while the sophomores worked as photographers. The freshman were responsible for decorating the commons area and serving refreshments after the lunch.

There were also students on hand to sing holiday songs while students in all grade levels had pitched in by donating items to fill the stockings that were later handed out to each guest. It may not be Christmas day yet but it seems the spirit of the season is in full swing in our neighborhood.
