East Dallas’ nationally recognized restaurant, Khao Noodle Shop, is temporarily closing after dinner service Saturday.

The eatery at 4812 Bryan St. will close for two weeks to allow another concept to take over the space.

Chef Donny Sirisavath announced the news Thursday on Instagram, saying Khao Noodle Shop was never a product of takeout and delivery.

“It’s not a goodbye yet. It’s temporary [to] give each other space,” Sirisavath said. “A little separation from the Dallas food scene. Give us time apart to see if this is the right place for us or to determine if we have to move on.”

This is the second time this year the eatery has temporarily closed. It shut in mid-April and reopened as a mini-market and various pop-ups to stay afloat.

“Come fill your heart and stomach with noods to fill your emptiness and admit your defeat of a new year’s resolution of going carbless,” Sirisavath said.
