Jerry Jones with executives from the American Cancer Society and Baylor Scott & White broke ground Tuesday on a new building in East Dallas that will off free housing to cancer patients and caregivers undergoing treatment.

The Gene and Jerry Jones Family Hope Lodge will be located on the property next to the Baylor University Medical Center campus in East Dallas, Fox affiliate KDFW reported. The 40,000-square-foot building will include 50 suites for patients and caregivers, 24-hour staffing, onsite parking and a communal kitchen and living area.

The Joneses donated $7.5 million to The American Cancer Society’s lodge, and Baylor Scott & White donated the property.

The residence is expected to provide 18,000 free nights a year when it opens in 2021.
