Audrey Schott says she thinks Hobie, a 3-year-old lab/beagle mix, escaped on Christmas Eve in the middle of the night. He’s a sweet dog, but he’s skittish. Schott says the fireworks probably scared him and caused him to squeeze through the back gate.

They aren’t sure how far he’s traveled. There was one potential sighting of Hobie around 10:15 a.m. Dec. 25 near Buckner Park.

Hobie weighs about 55 pounds and has a red Scottish tartan collar with a large orange tag, and he was wearing a green Christmas bowtie. He is microchipped. Some photos are included, and Hobie also has some black coloring on his tail and a longer snout.

Schott says he might not approach people because he’s anxious, but he is not vicious or aggressive.

The Schotts are offering a $2,000 reward for Hobie’s safe return. If you see Hobie, you can call Audrey at 817-966-9619.
