Here’s an update on what’s open and what’s not.

Parlor’s Ice Creams recently celebrated a grand opening at its first brick-and-mortar location. SMU graduates Kellie and Brandon Stoll, the co-founders, started the company in 2019 and have been selling their treats at pop-ups at places such as the Dallas Arboretum and Dallas Farmers Market.

At the store, find a variety of seasonal and rotating permanent flavors. Right now, the seasonal flavor is strawberries and cream, which has house-made strawberry preserves mixed into sweet cream ice cream.

Susie Cakes hasn’t opened yet, but it’s coming soon. The bakery will sell cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars, pies and puddings.

There’s a location in Preston Center, but the company recently made two of its best-selling specialty cakes available nationwide. The celebration cake, vanilla cake with sugar confetti, and the old-fashioned chocolate cake can be purchased online and shipped to homes.

Boardroom Salon opened this week in the shopping center. It’s the company’s 45th location across the country and its 15th in North Texas.

This business specializes in men’s haircuts, shaves, spa services and more.

Sprouts is still under construction. There’s a fence around the site, but many walls are visible. We haven’t heard an expected opening date yet, but we’ll update when we can.

Hillside Village is located at the northeast corner of Abrams Road and E. Mockingbird Lane.
