In April, the shopping center appealed the Dallas Board of Adjustment for a special exception to have a new multi-tenant detached sign.

The shopping center at 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane already has three detached multi-tenant signs. Two face Mockingbird, and one fronts Abrams.

The owners want to replace one of the signs on Mockingbird with one that will be relocated to accommodate the re-striping of the parking lot, according to the appeal.

Keeping the current number of signs is necessary because of lease obligations with the tenants, the appeal states.

The new signage comes at a time of high tenant turnover at Hillside Village. In March, the sports bar Lakewood’s 1st & 10 closed, as well as Visionworks a few doors down. But the shopping center added newcomers Hillside Tavern, Haystack Burgers & Barley and Original ChopShop.
