Authorities say a man stole a pickup Thursday night and led police on a high-speed chase that ended in Old East Dallas.

The chase began around 9:30 p.m. near Centerville Road and Marketplace Drive in Garland when a 28-year-old man failed to comply to a traffic stop, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The driver sped off in a white Dodge truck that had been reported stolen out of Mesquite. The vehicle reached speeds of 80-90 mph on Interstate 30 during the chase, Garland police told the Morning News.

The newspaper reported that the chase ended when the driver exited the interstate and crashed into an occupied SUV near Bryan Street and North Haskell Avenue.

The pickup driver and the SUV driver were treated at area hospitals for injuries that were not considered life threatening, the Morning News reported.

Police arrested the 28-year-old, who faces multiple charges.

It was the second high-speed chase this week after men wanted in East Dallas robberies fled from authorities in south Dallas.
