Presented by the Asian American Historical Society, Hear Me Roar is the first in a series of documentaries amplifying the untold stories of Dallas’ Asian American population.
Tomorrow night at Angelika Film Center, the first installment premieres at 7 p.m., preceded by a reception in the upstairs lobby at 6, complete with local Asian American cultural relics and art.
The first installment is directed by Asian American Historical Society co-founder, Denise Johnson. After the screening, Johnson and documentary subject Jo Lew will be present for a Q&A session to the audience.
Co-founder Stephanie Drenka says that tickets are mostly sold out, but the reception and subsequent Q&A are open and free to the public.
