North Henderson has become a trendy spot for drinking, dining or grabbing a frozen yogurt or cup of coffee. Now Henry F. Uldall and Lauren Bryant are adding an upscale hair salon to the mix. They are teaming up on Halo Hair, a 4,000-square-foot, two-story salon, which is expected to open across the street from Victor Tango’s in about three weeks. Halo Hair will have plenty of free parking and complimentary mimosas for clients on Saturday mornings. Stylists there will use Bumble and Bumble, Kerastase and Shu Uemura products.

Uldall is a 10-year stylist who has worked under such hair luminaries as Jean Phillippe, Richard Hayler and Shaun McCarthy. Bryant is the former owner of Urban Home, a furniture store that also was on Henderson. The beauty industry tends to be resilient during the worst of recessions, but market analyst NPD Group Inc. reported in March that sales in that industry slipped a bit in 2008. Sales in hair care, which NPD groups with skin care, remained flat in 2008 compared to the previous year.
