The Dallas Morning News has been following a story about a 24-year-old man who reportedly broke into a Far East Dallas apartment Saturday night and began beating the woman and 7-year-old child who live there. Later, the Dallas Morning News posted a follow-up, in which the suspect, Jamal Allen, said he doesn’t remember attacking the woman and child, and that he hadn’t planned to burglarize their apartment.
