There’s plenty of restaurant openings throughout Dallas, and Lakewood is being graced with a few new eateries:
- Khao Noodle Shop found its home at 4812 Bryan Street in Old East Dallas. Chef Donny Sirisavath is serving octopus tacos, soups, noodles and Laotian beer.
- Desert Racer is replacing Haymaker at 1520 Greenville Ave. Nick Badovinus is behind the Baja-inspired cantina, according to CultureMap.
- The brothers behind Rapscallion and Boulevardier are opening Hillside Tavern at Hillside Village. The restaurant is slated to open at the end of 2018, but no opening date is set.
- In case you missed it, a barbecue joint is opening in Lower Greenville. Check out Louie King BBQ for some experimental, yet sort-of familiar barbecue.
In other food-related news, Lowest Greenville’s Gung Ho has started serving brunch every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Items include orange chicken and waffles and fried rice burritos.
Rapscallion, Steel City Pops and Botolino Gelato are just a few of the restaurants participating in Lower Greenville’s fifth annual Trick or Treating event, slated Saturday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Truck Yard also is hosting an all-day Halloween celebration, with costume contests for people and pets, drink specials and pumpkin smashing. (Yes, there will be puppies to pet and pumpkins to ruin.)
