Nick Badovinus’ Desert Racer bounding into Haymaker space on Lower Greenville

The restaurateur behind Neighborhood Services and Offsite Kitchen is opening a southwestern inspired restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Haymaker at 1520 Greenville Ave., Dallas CultureMap reports.

Nick Badovinus will open Desert Racer, a casual cantina that will utilize the indoor and outdoor space on the property. The restaurant is named for the Baja 1000, a 1000 mile race through the deserts of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. A desert racer is the name of the high powered dune buggies used in the race.

Details are slim on the new spot, with nothing in the way of specifics about the menu or opening date available just yet.

Haymaker lasted just 14 months in the location, and Pints and Quarts closed this year across the street.
