Tuesday’s four-alarm fire quickly spread to the complex’s roof, according to CBS 11. Firefighters received the call at 3:42 p.m., and about 90 firefighters were dispatched to quell the flames, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.

Most tenants already evacuated the apartments before firefighters arrived. “Approximately 33 units were rendered uninhabitable as a result of varying degrees of fire, smoke and/or water damage,” Evans told the Advocate via email.

The American Red Cross is assisting residents, Evans said. Apartment management offered to accommodate displaced tenants on site and at its fellow properties.
