Reality: It’s summer. It’s Texas. It’s hot.

Solution: Find water. Find boats. Find fun.

Hopping on a boat sounds like the ticket, but boats are expensive, maintenance takes effort, and who has the time?

Longtime neighborhood resident Sue Wallace has the solution: Owner of Freedom Boat Club Texas on Lake Lewisville, Sue offers club members a fleet of high-end boats to access daily without the personal headache of cleaning, care, insurance or slip rentals.

Members simply show up, hop in a boat and take off.

Sue and her husband, John, along with partners in Austin and Houston, offer Freedom Boat Club members access to all kinds of boats. Bowriders and deck boats are excellent for wake boarding, skiing and tubing. Tri-toons are for cruising and relaxing.

The boating fun isn’t limited to Lake Lewisville, Austin and Houston, either. Through the Freedom Boat Club, members have access to more than 1,600 boats without additional charge at over 160 locations across the U.S., Canada, and now Europe. Boat selections include sailboats, fishing boats, deck boats, and now Jeanneau boats in Europe.

“Our members can run errands in the morning, spend an afternoon wake-boarding or tubing, and be home in time for supper,” Sue says.

No prior boating experience? No problem.

Freedom Boat Club works with beginners as well as seasoned salts. Sue and her crew help novices by providing local training in the classroom and on the water, all as part of the club membership.

“We gas the boats, help load and unload supplies and passengers, and frequently change out the fleet so members can take out the latest boat models available,” she says.

And trouble-free boating isn’t the only club benefit. Taking a business client out on the water is more memorable than taking them to a restaurant or golf course. It’s an innovative way to make connections both professionally and personally.

“We have sunset cruises for members and guests, a monthly wine club and a women’s diva club. Freedom Boat Club is not just for personal recreation, but also for making year-round business and social contacts, and friendships with people who share an interest in boating and love being on the water,” Sue says.
