Rain is good for trees, but not so much for tree pick-up days.

The National Weather Service predicts 25-mph wind gusts and an 80 percent chance of precipitation Saturday, the only day the City of Dallas will distribute 2,600 free trees to residents who registered in advance for Branch Out Dallas.

The 5-gallon trees will be available, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to noon at six locations, including one in East Dallas.

— Bishop Lynch High School, 9750 Ferguson Road
— C. A. Tatum Jr. Elementary School, 3002 N. St Augustine Drive
— Justin F. Kimball High School, 3606 S. Westmoreland Road
— Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy, 17000 E. Camp Wisdom Road
— St. Monica Catholic School, 4140 Walnut Hill Lane
— W. H. Adamson High School, 309 E. 9th St.

Neighbors who did not register can stop by the distribution centers at noon to take home any leftover trees.
