At 10:00 a.m., come out this Indepence Day and celebrate at the 52nd Lakewood Fourth of July parade starting from Lakewood Boulevard and Cambria. This year’s theme will be Lakewood Time Machine, and there is also a fun run at 8 a.m.

On the other side of the lake, the Little Forest Hills 15th annual Fourth of July parade offers a bit funkier version of the patriotic display. The parade begins at 9 a.m.

Head to the Dallas Arboretum on July 4 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Guests can enjoy blues music, hot dogs and ice cream. Free admission for active and retired/former military with ID.

Shakespeare Dallas invites neighbors to enjoy “The Taming of the Shrew” this Independence Day. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8:15 p.m.

Head to the Granada Theater Thursday to see Handmade Moments, a band that blends folk, country, and soul. Tickets are $10-$20. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m.

From 4-5 p.m., head to Good Records Saturday to kick off the Fourth of July weekend. Paul Cauthen will perform his songs from “Have Mercy,” his latest EP.
