What’s better than a new coffee bar? A coffee bar that is actually a bar, complete with unique cocktails, craft beers and, of course, coffee-based adult beverages. Halcyon officially opens its first Dallas location on April 6 at 2900 Greenville Ave, although they’ve opened for limited hours the pastĀ few days to get the staff ready for full operation. The Austin-based chain also has locations in San Antonio and California, and carries a menu of salads, sandwiches, wraps and other mostly light bites. Happy hour is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday-Friday. The location used to house Cafe Brazil, which closed its Lower Greenville location abruptly last year.

Development consultant Rob Baldwin of Baldwin Associates is working on the project, and says, “We are just permitting what they call a ‘white box.’ No tenant at this time. Once they get one, they will apply for a tenant finish-out permit.” The location used to house EZ Pawn, but the building’s new owner bought out the pawn shop’sĀ lease, and plans to put a boutique on the ground floor with office space on the second level.Ā
