A guest at Dallas Fraternal Order of Eagles 3108 swimming pool drowned Friday night, Dallas FOE said in a statement to members over the weekend.

“We are saddened to report a visitor apparently suffered a medical emergency and passed away despite the best efforts of staff and EMS after falling in the pool,” reads a post on the FOE 3108 page.

The statement went on to say that they are respecting the family’s privacy by not disclosing the victim’s name in the statement and that they will share results of an investigation once those become available.

“Please join us in our prayers for the family as we wait for a full accounting from the authorities,” the note concluded.

Several members confirmed that the deceased was an adult male and an employee at a nearby restaurant, Smokey Rose.

The pool closed Friday after the incident and re-opened at noon Sunday.

The FOE Dallas’ public swimming pool, located at 8500 Arturo in East Dallas, has always been a swim-at-your-own-risk establishment without a lifeguard on duty. Safety guidelines are posted around the water.

Fraternal Order of Eagles is a nonprofit whose Dallas branch is involved in a variety of altruistic programs.
